Murder, Mayhem part 3

Within  the next few minutes with the car moving on the narrow roads and the siren on they reached the crime scene. It was crowded, people were surrounding the house as some rock concert was going on.

They were not ready to move at any cost. Kadam had a lot of difficulty in managing the crowd and entering the scene with Pandey ji and few other constables following his lead.

He raced for the stairs and saw a man standing there. He asked, “ how many people are inside, any idea?”

“No Sir! Maybe two of them!” said the man

Kadam turned towards Pandey and said “ Pandey ji inko niche le jaiye aur control room se contact kar ambulance bulwa lijye aur han forensics wale bhi, aaj lagta hai inki jarurat pade

“Thick hai Saab” replied Pandey.

Kadam took out his gun in one and a torch light in the other. The gate was locked from inside. So he asked one of the constables to break it open. Once he got into the room, he turned the torchlight in the room. He stepped on few broken pieces of the bottle  that made a screeching sound. Then he moved ahead and saw a gate of the room. When he entered the room, all he could see was a red light from a room inside and all the furniture and belongings were broken and scattered. There was a body lying on the bed pooled with blood.  He moved his torch on the bed and found a gun with few spare bullet shells on the floor. And there was a broken glass bottle near the body.

Kadam approached him and looked for any vital signs. His pulse was low, but, he was still alive, barely breathing. The only word that came out of the mouth was “lies”.

“Lies” that made Kadam shiver for a moment, but he kept his mind on more pressing matters.

He reached for his radio and asked murmured “ Pandey ji, we have a situation upstairs, medical team ko bhi bhejiye and we need backup” with this the transmission ended.

Aap inko niche le jaiye, mai aage dekhta hun” said Kadam to the constables.

The constables then picked him up and raced downwards, leaving Kadam alone to his fate.

Kadam left him in his condition and moved to check the other rooms. He opened the gates, few of them were empty. But when he moved to the last one, in the dim light of his torch he moved his hand to look for switches. Finally, he found it  and turned the switch on. What he saw couldn’t let him believe his own eyes. There was a girl, a dark complexion, one, strangled in chains, covered with a plastic sheet. Her black hairs were roughly cut and lying on the floor. She was touching the floor with her toe, a hook was pierced on her back that kept her standing  on her toes. Kadam reached his pocket and took his handkerchief out and wrapped around his nose. He could see many aerosols can lying on the floor.

The girl's body was skinned, he could not find marks that would suggest a possible physical struggle. Whatever it was, no human could have the heart to do that. Whoever he was, he was no human.
Kadam sat moved out to the balcony and saw a dark hooded figure staring him. For a moment he thought it was death itself. He looked back but saw no one, he thought he must be thinking too much. When he moved inside the room all he could see was “Lies” written in blood all over the wall.
When Kadam was in the room looking for evidence he saw a boning knife nearby. Then he looked at the body  of the girl, on her arm, he saw deliberate marks of the knife on her torso and arms which read “Forgive me, I lied.”

Kadam was getting out of his mind. Quickly, he moved out of that room and made his way out of the house. The first thing he spoke when he came out of it “A man nearly dead, A dead girl in chains, what on the earths is going on”, and he grabbed his head which was giving him a nightmare now.
Press was coming through, Kadam made his way till the last step when the press finally got a hold of him.

“Sir, I am from "Tez" news, there is a murder in this house what do you have to say?” said Zoya khan, a young reporter in her mid 20’s

“I haven’t seen anything like this before, I have no clue whatsoever, we have called our experts. We will find the culprit,” said Kadam in his defense.

“Don’t you think the police was lazy all the time?” said Zoya

All Kadam  could say was” No comments” and made his way out to the ambulance where Pandey was standing.

Zoya gave him a bitter look for not answering and forced her way to get more pictures and talk to more neighbors. For this story could change her life

“ Pandey ji, aaj humara din hi kharab hai , kisi kaam na aaye. Aapne bade Saheb ko phone kar Diya the na?”

“saab, han kar diya tha. upar ka hal kaisa tha saab?”

“Arre mat puchiye, Pandey ji dekhne ki himmat na ho kisi me. Ye forensics wale kahan reh gaye, kabhi time pe nahi aa sakte”

Finally to ease  his mind from the pressure he put his hand in his pocket and took out a cigarette. Pandey quickly took out the lighter and helped him. Soon all his problems seemed to disappear with the smoke. And he felt peace. When he saw his watch now it was already 2 in the morning. People went to sleep, the whole area seemed deserted, except the officials who were pulling through.
Just then few cars stopped and off pop his seniors and another car just stopped a few inches before Kadam. They were from the forensics team of Delhi police.

Kadam then briefed them about the day, what he saw, what happened and everything.
As soon as he completed, everyone raced up to see the crime scene.

“Suddenly we see a lot of rush in the Police activity. The top officials have come few moments ago, and now we see another police van coming around. It's the forensic team of Delhi police. So we see alot of blood has been spilled on one day, still we have no clue about the killer”.

This is Zoya khan, bringing you the live feed about the city for the XXX news.

Not far from there, someone was watching this news. While tending  his wounds he was murmuring

“Truth may triumph, but lies remains,
They become legends, which people forget.
Lies is what remains when the truth is gone.
Truth may shine bright as the sun, but it turns into darkness, when lies are sung”.

As it finished the room filled with a strange laughter, echoing through the darkness.

Finally, it has begun.
